Situated outside of Syracuse , NY , Dave Tingley needed Allied Steel to pre-engineer a building that would hold up against the throes of Mother Nature. After recently being slammed by the remnants of Hurricane Rita, Tingley saw first hand how well his facility sustained.

"The building held up very well," said Tingley. "We had a torrential downpour for 45 minutes at one point. Despite losing power and cable, the facility itself had minimal if any damage at all."

The 30' X 48' X 14' building had to be able to handle the various weather changes that can occur in upstate NY. Allied Steel manufactured one that could withstand a wind load of 90 MPH gusts and 60 lbs of snow per square foot.

"Rita turned out to be great since we saw how well the building held up," said Tingley. "With winter around the corner, I think Allied Steel did their job."

Tingley's using the facility for not only a workshop but for storage as well.

"I have race cars, jet skis, snow mobiles, and boats that I need to store," said Tingley. "I just got married last July, and my wife has a one-car garage home whereas I have one that holds two. We're just about to pave the floor with 50 tons of gravel, since concrete has become quite expensive. So once that's down, I am taking advantage of the space."

Allied's easy-to-follow instructions made the process a lot easier for Tingley to put up the building, considering he had never put one up before.

"Nobody had put one up that I knew," said Tingley. "We went in and were able to put up the building without much trouble. It was took a while, but it was a good project to work on. The end result was quite impressive. I thought it was reasonable for what I paid, and I would recommend Allied Steel to anyone."
